I thought there wasn't information on anything pre 67 like this. On this Bring a Trailer auction for an R code 63 Galaxie convertible there is a 1972 letter from Ford where they state 411 convertibles in 1963 with the 427 engine and 204 convertibles in 1964. Click on picture #202 of the 222 pictures.

So what other info does Ford have on cars we can't get Marti reports for?

What you're missing is this was 1972. They threw the records out in the 80's. The 67 up production paperwork and assembly manuals were literally rescued from a dumpster.

If I am correct...

The woman that saved the records worked at Ford and owned a 1967 Mustang. She saved these records for her year of car.

Lois Eminger, she had a 57 T-bird.  http://automotivemileposts.com/tbird/tbird1957eminger.html

Yes. Correct on the production information. The assembly manuals were rescued from the trash.

I thought the records were lost in a fire in 1966?

According to Kevin Marti they were thrown. I have always wondered if Ford still had vin numbers stored on microfiche and didn't want to be bothered with dealing with the public.

I personally haven't checked on much past 1950 at the Benson Ford center at the Henry Ford museum.  If anything exists , that is where it would reside, IMO. A lot of mechanical drawings still exist there, some interesting Foreman's logs, from the Rouge.

I don`t know if they break it down by engine, but about 15 years ago, I contacted the Ford of Canada historical department about my 59 Meteor Niagara 300 2 door sedan, which is basically a 59 Ford Custom 300 Tudor, built at Oakville Ontario. They send me a letter which broke down all the VIN tag information, which is drastically different than a US built Ford. Among the data was the production numbers of my particular model (under 6,000 Niagara 300 2 doors, compared to almost 250,000 Ford Custom 300s). No idea if Ford Motor Company has similar records, or if Ford of Canada still provides such info. The letter confirms that my car was originally a 332FE 2 speed automatic car, but I believe the production numbers they supplied were for all 59 Niagara 300 2 door sedans, with any powertrain package.

Also, in the mid 90s, I got a History 999 information letter from Ford , which broke down the data of my 69 Cobra fastback R code .Again, no idea if Ford still provides this info, and if they do, how far back the data goes.
