C scratch block, .040 over, will require at least one sleeve maybe 2. I picked up about 5-6 years ago with a ton of other FE stuff at a garage sale. I do not know the history other than to say that it appears to need at least one sleeve. I have not taken it to a shop for any further inspection. Date 9B24 Email for pics or questions. #8 has a vertical crack/split that has discouraged a couple of buyers. I will try and post a couple additional pic's. I have a buyer however am having difficulty w/ Fastenal shipping to the Midwest from CA. Ugh!

I just got a C scratch block, you can send via FEDEX freight, wrap a bag around it and use ratchets straps from Harbor Freight to hold it down to a pallet.  Clever cheap and easy from one of our members, may want to give up on the Fastenal, ABF, FEDEX, etc are cheap and easy, just pick up at the dock

I shipped a transmission from here (So. Oregon) to So Cal (about 700 mi), last July. I boxed it (18x24x 32), it weighed 180 lb. The best Fed Ex price I got was $349.

Fastenal , gave me a quote of $167 but, at that time, their center here was closed and I would have had to drive 100 mi's West, to ship it. The shipping distance was a little further from that point.

Not only that but, they back charged me, about $150  for residential delivery.

I think Fastenal was a little benefit in the past, but went away.  In the end, the shipping companies do a real good job.  I wasn't a shipper until Brent coached me through a few.  Now it's a big nothing-burger for me.

The real shipping companies run with economies of scale, but they think pallets or boxes that act like pallets (forks go under), and they have no time for BS, nor do they give any, they want to turn and burn.  Bring them something they don't need to think about, forks can go under, no leaks, strapped tight, and then pick up/drop off at docks.  So easy

If you ship fairly often setup an account through a 3PL like Freightquote or Freightcenter. This usually gets it down close to the Fastenal rates that have creeped up over the last few years.
