Exhaust manifold
« on: September 30, 2020, 03:39:54 PM »
Hello,
My I have an exhaust manifold that has a crack and I'm having trouble finding a replacement.
The part number on it is C9VE9431A. I called all the local auto parts stores to no avail and then the local Ford dealership the guy there said his part catalog only goes back to the 80s.

My bigger issue is I'm not sure what engine I have.
They guy who I bought the truck from told me it's a 429 TJ.  When I took it to a mechanic I was told it's a 428. I called the guy who I bought the truck from and he said it could be 428, it's been 20 years since he had the engine put in. And he has always just taken it in to be worked on, so he never asked again.

Any help/guidance would be great.
Thanks in advance!

A picture is worth 1,000,000,000 words.
Post a pic and you will likely get a quick answer or two.

Cheers

Thunderjet.  I would suggest you hunt it down on eBay or find a 429 forum.  Otherwise, take it to a machinist who can braze it back together.

Edit:  Ah, winr1 got it!
