Down south we’re fine but I don’t listen to or watch news.
My mom and brother live up north on the Sierra side and I haven’t heard anything bad.
Don’t know about the Napa folks.

Hope you guys are doing okay.  Here we get tornadoes now and then but nothing that lasts for days and days.

Unfortunately, the fire season here is far from over, and this is another suspicious one, evacuations from near Calistoga to south of St Helena, Nixle goes off about every half hour with new areas. Hmm, right by the road- arson or a frikkin' cigarette? Always amazes me to see idjits tossing lit cigarettes out the window in fire season- way too often. Smoky skies again, hot weather and a little windy

Well so much for good news.
Mom and bro are loading cars to evacuate.
The good news is they have good firebreaks and ground cover management. And a fire truck.
Edit
Evac orders issued but fire is 78% contained. Weird.

St.Helena and Calistoga aren't good places to be right now. The valley floor is carpeted with vineyards, which make great, if expensive firebreaks. St. Helena has wooded hills right down to the edge of town on the east side, and wind is blowing west. Calistoga has wooded hills on both sides. Santa Rosa losing homes again. Kinda curious that these fires popped up in a bunch, one after another in a short period of time. No mention at all of origins yet

The fires were tragic in my area.

One fire (Alemda) started near I-5, 12 miles South of me (25 mi North of CA border) and burnt the town of Phoenix and part of the town of Talent. More that 1000 homes destroyed and 6 or 7 dead. Arson caused. Within 2 days another arson fire, started 5 miles South of me, near a Pilot truck stop, Costco and 2 hotels, as well as numerous other businesses. They got that one out within 12 hrs. It burnt 2 miles near I-5.

This all happened 2 weeks ago and is all safe now but, there are several very large fires still going, 90 and 200 miles to the North of me and 50 miles to the West, along the CA/OR border. Plus a few more smaller fires.

Most fires here seem to have started near a state hwy.

Good luck and God bless to all of you.  Don't take any chances, easier to load a trailer early and make multiple trips!

Same here - hoping they can get things under control and praying for a weather change.  Arson - I can't think of a harsh enough punishment for such a thing.  Well, I can but...

The pictures/video we're seeing are just devastating.  Only the clothes on your back and your entire city in ashes, it's almost too much to grasp.

I'm in Long Beach.  The only things we've had to deal with are crummy air quality and a bit of ash fall.  Yeah the arsonist "firebugs" are a real thing.

My brother-in-law manages thousands of acres of open space for the Irvine Company.  One of the things he does is run a network of trail cameras to track mountain lions, bears, bobcats, etc.  Dave has seen people on-camera throwing road flares out of moving cars!

Funny side note.  The open spaces are nature preserves that are typically closed to people.  Dave had a problem a couple of years ago with a woman who liked to run in the nude on his trails.  He finally was able to catch up to her, fully clothed, getting into her car.

Dave - "You've been running illegally on the Open Space trails."
Woman - "No I haven't!"
Dave - "Here are some pictures from our trail cameras.  That's you."
Woman - "Oh..."
Dave - "Here's a picture of the lion that has been stalking 100 feet behind you on your most recent run."
Woman - "OOOHHH!!"

Problem solved.
A careful study of failure will yield the ingredients for success.

Fire in San Bernardino California,  came within 500yds of our family cabin in Angelus Oaks.
Started in a park with group having a gender reveal party with a colored smoke bomb that caught the dry brush on fire. Morons!

Smoke is all gone around Vancouver area now but two weeks ago it was terrible. The smoke from the fires in Oregon drifted 600 miles north and it was so thick you could see barely a quarter mile.

Arsonists should be doused in gas and pushed into their fires. If it turns out Soros is paying them to do that he should be coated in gunpowder and thrown in the fire too.

The gender reveal sound like the kid will be a moron!
Bill, your pictures of the jogger didn't show up! :)
