My Latest FE
« on: January 27, 2013, 01:28:31 AM »

Have a look at my latest FE project.  My son and I drove from Texas up to Kansas to check it out, and we ended up makin' a deal.  I drove it back home with him following me (just in case!).  As you would expect the old Gal didn't miss a beat!  We cruised at 65-70mph with no issues... The colors are original and called Peacock Blue and Corinthian White.  IMO a nice combo!  The engine is the X-code 352 2V mated with a Cruise-o-Matic.  It also has P/S, P/B, and Selectaire aircon.
The 352 is a little decrepit since it's going on 50 and is going to need some attention soon.  I'll keep y'all posted on the diagnostic results and some ideas for the future!  Bruce

Really, really nice looking car, Bruce.  You'd almost hate to mess with it, but - it needs a stroker motor  ;D

Really nice and clean ride you have there. Looking at the pic.. what is that distribution block to the right of the brake booster? Looks like air lines coming outta it, is the suspension bagged? And yes.. another vote for "stroking it" when it's time.  ;D

I got a thing for 63 galaxies... that one is really nice.  Just left a 300ft tire mark with mine  8)
Super nice that it's a Galaxie 500.... bucket seats are cool, but it's cooler to ride with your lady next to ya.

Thanks y'all for the compliments!  It's a bench seat Galaxie 500... the seats are a combination of turqoise vinyl and matching cloth, also in great shape.  The dash and door panels are turquoise. Btw the car was produced in mid-July '63 so it must have been one of the last ones off the line before the '64s started coming.

Scooter, yes it has an air bag suspension installed by the previous owner. The ride height can be lowered quite a bit from whats shown in the pictures. He said he likes 'em low!  I'm going to remove them, cause it hurts the ride and I think I can get a good stance and better handling without them.

Bags are for semi trucks, stock springs in front and some composite rears are the way to get a smooth manageable ride. Throw in some good shocks and it will ride like a new car.

Calvert Racing has them, I have installed them on my Nova, Cameo and Jeep CJ with excellent results.

sorry for high jacking but since suspension
questions are up
Are there someone selling stiffer swaybars
and other highperformance suspension parts
for Galaxies
