It is diffidently a different time, today. But, even with that, the people that have served, have much more respect for for this country than the politicians do. This country needs to be honored and cherished, like we do the FE.

I was at Phan Rang and Long Bin as a mechanic, in the 62nd Engineer Battalion, each for about 6 mo. Our battalion built the original air strip at Phan Rang.

Your more than welcome and it was my honor to serve. I want to thank my fellow brother veterans no matter where they served. A friend of mine told me that five women died during the Vietnam war and received (posthumously) medallions for bravery. I arrived in country in January 1968. Two weeks later the Tet offensive started. Not a good time to be a "cherry" but God brought me through it all. I married my wife who was a nursing student within two weeks of knowing her in 1969. She graduated that same year and she received letters from Uncle Sam to join. I told her no way are you going over there. Again, thank you and always remember the fallen.
