How to ship a 9" centersection?
« on: May 16, 2020, 12:58:40 PM »
I went to the UPS store today and they wanted $130 to ship a 9" centersection.  Do you know a better way?   I could've swore last time I had one shipped to me it was closer to $50.   I have an actual center section box so it is not big, but it weighs 83 lbs.  USPS?  Fedex?

Definitely no USPS, they’re much pricier for heavy items. My quickie rule of thumb is $1 per pound, if it’s normal sized, as a ballpark.  I just shipped two iron FE heads in separate boxes for $75 total, guessing they’re about same weight as a center section and being two boxes you’d think more expensive.  If you’re sending it to some spots in the West where there are few roads, that’ll Jack it up in a hurry.  Agree that $135 sounds high
