ARP main studs
« on: May 09, 2020, 05:55:11 PM »
For Sale:  3 or 4 years ago when I was building my last 428 I ordered a set of ARP main bolts.  When they arrived they were main studs.  I had used the wrong part number when ordering. I decided to use them but after I torqued the main caps I remembered that using studs versus bolts changed the bearing clearance.  So I removed the studs, ordered the correct part number for bolts and finished building the 428.  So now I have the studs for sale.  They have only been torqued one time, removed and placed in the box and put on a shelf.  $85 includes free shipping.

That part number shown in the pic is also for main bolts, not studs.

My apologies for incorrect information.  I had my 76th birthday two weeks ago and it seems that my "senior moments" are unfortunately coming more frequently now.  I have corrected the original post, but I will try to clear up the confusion.  I originally ordered MAIN BOLTS and used the wrong part number and received MAIN STUDS.  So I reordered MAIN BOLTS using the correct part number and replaced the MAIN STUDS with MAIN BOLTS before the short block was completed.  The ARP box shown is what the MAIN BOLTS arrived in.  I had already trashed the MAIN STUD box, so I used the MAIN BOLT box to store the MAIN STUDS in.  So MAIN STUDS are what I have to sell.  Once again my sincere apologies for the confusion I caused.
