I think it would survive. I did it for years with a 223 mileage maker six, (wasn't making good mileage) and a SBC. 50 miles of interstate one way to work @ 4k. Other than the fuel consumption, the downside is that engine wear squares with rpm. Upside is, engine stays nice and clean.

You need an OD trans in that thing.   8)  The F-350 460 with a 4:10 rear turns at 2100 at 65 MPH.
