What is the pin height of pistons ?

I have a guy that is looking at my rods and piston's and is wanting to know the pin height, is it the center of the pin to the top of the piston ?

Is that the "compression height" ?

Compression height yes. Center of wrist pin to top of piston. If it’s a domed piston, not the top of the dome though.

You should be able to call Mahle and give them the piston number, and they should be able to tell you the CH.

No need to call anyone.....you can either do the math...… (10.150 - 2.1875 - 6.700 = ~1.263) ….or...…...you can just look on the box.   On a Mahle piston, it will be part of the part number.

I would assume 1.267

If you look at the batch number, it says 1267/4375.  The latter is stroke.

(4.375/2)+6.70 rod+1.267 = 10.1545 which would work with a cut FE deck

Usually it's more clear, but you could always call the company and you'd have the positive answer

They are 1.267". 

The part number, FFE267375I20 denotes a 1.267" compression height, 4.375" bore, and a 20cc inverted dome.

Anyone interested in buying ?

Someone said they'll also work for big block strokers for Ford FE & 460, Chevy & Pontiac. Is that true ?

I could be interested. I have a crank and block I could use them in. Didn't really want compression that low but could live with it.

I don't think you could use them in a 460 or Pontiac too easily.

If I wasn't clear, the discussion off this site was about the 6.70 Compstar rods...I wasn't talking about the pistons.  I can see how my post looked incorrect in this discussion.  Only the rods are usable in other makes
