I am in need of a couple of sets of '68 302 cylinder heads if anyone has them for sale.  Bare heads preferable.  Would consider a complete '68 302 engine as a rebuilder.  Joe-JDC

I have a complete '68 302-2V that a friend bought many years ago out of a wreck to put in a street rod, pretty clean- but distance (94558) would be a problem

I have a pair of ‘68 302 2V heads, and the majority of the ‘68 302 they came on, but it’s going to be a while before it warms up enough to get into my pole building and dig them out. Let us know if you find what you need in the meantime.

I thought I had a cherry pair of C80E-E heads with a 8M10 casting date, but when I got them cleaned up, they were actually C90E-E, and I can't use them for my project.  Let me know if yours are real C8 castings.  Joe-JDC

Hi Joe, I should have a pair that were removed from a 68 fairlane. The car only had 60000 miles or so on it. When I go out to my shop today I will check casting numbers. Will have to ship from billings mt, maybe a little spendy. Rob

I have in my notes that mine are C8OE-J castings, so it doesn’t sound like what you’re looking for.

Are you looking for the ones marked “302 4V”?

Doesn't need to be a particular suffix, only a true C80E part number, with 7 or early 8 date code.  I have a J code intake, and these heads came of a 302 4v, but somehow they are '69 heads, and it is the first for me.  I thought all California Specials were '68s, and these came off a CS. I have been saving these heads for over 25 years because I know the car they came off of.   Joe-JDC

At least one of my C8OE-J heads has a “8A6” date code, that’s in my notes too. But like I said these aren’t the “302 4V” castings. When it warms up I’ll wade into the core pile. I should have a storage bin with the crank/rods/pistons too.

Pulled out my heads, and both are c80e j and have a casting date of 8a18.
Can pull valves and springs, if can find a cheap way to ship them. Rob

All C/S cars were 68's .Was not un common to find the parts mixed up in 68 as there was no 289 4V or 302 2V (almost none) available in Mustangs. There were 3 only 302 2V Mustangs built....99.9 % of all 302 Mustangs were "J" code and to be technical the heads should say 302 4V on them.It was a one year only thing..Intake would be a C8 casting...

Its not un common to find a 302 2V in a late 68 that should have had a 289 2V..
