Rockers?
« on: January 03, 2013, 08:58:14 AM »
With all the offerings and options out there of course they are all the best according to the manufacturer of the part but which would work best for me? I wanted a full roller, adjustable with good wear properties. It is street/ race up to 6500 max. Any input would be appreciated thanks guys.

If you're talking about the same 600HP motor I'd be looking at a set of T & D rockers.

Later I was planning upgrading to a roots Gary Dyer's 671 @12 psi but it will be the last thing I do after all else is done. The T&D either in race or street is pricey but sure looks bullet proof. Eventually I would like to be getting 700-800 but not sure what my current combo with tuning will produce. I am going to take it somewhere and have it tuned on a chassis dyno when I am done but I think 600 is a conservative number. I spent a lot more in research so far than actually working on the car. Especially in the engine area but none I talk to will quote any numbers so actually I might be in for a a supprise or terrible let down, hopefully not the latter.

Just remember using T&D Rockers that they oil through the lifters, push rods and into the rocker.  You need to block off oil supply at the rocker stand in the head.  I love my T&D Rockers.  Clifford

Talked to them yesterday and I have to do some machine work to my Edelbrock heads to get their Edelbrock set to go. They recommended using the set with extra oil holes but did not mention oil port changes? We will see when I get them what is involved I guess. I am using hydraulic roller lifters so some changes there might be present, not sure of that either but I am sure it will all work out in the end as the combination is common these days.
