Chevrolet block
« on: February 03, 2020, 01:23:11 AM »
So, I have a Merlin Pro block. From world products, it’s brand new. Cast in probably 1998. It’s basically what Pro stock used in the 90’s. It’s a tall deck (10.200) standard cam location, it has extra head bolt bosses in the lifter valley that 18 degree heads would use. Billet splayed steel caps, dual oil pan bolt patterns. Safely bore to 4.640. It’s currently 4.490. Priority main oiling, super thick lifter bore area to allow bushing of lifter bores. It’s a heavy block, but probably about as strong as any Chevrolet  block ever made. The closest current block is a Dart big M I would say. They retail for $2,800. I would really like to find this block a new home. There are pistons available for a big chief/big duke head, a 4/7 swap cam also. So if you have any drag race bowtie friends, I’d like to make them an owner. Thanks!
