Would have loved to. I’m on Long Island and I guess that makes it close. All my buddies are going but then again they go every year for the last 3 years.

I'm out again this year, engine's still apart in my Drag Week car.  At least I have the parts to put it back together now...

And which Drag Week car would that be of the 3 or 4 that you have won it with?  ;)

Going back with the Shelby clone in 2020 I think, 605" SOHC.  Going to try to run close to 8.50.

That's be 9.9L for the FnF fan boys.   Need to shoot for 611 - makes it 10L.   ;D

I just read the waiting list has over 1700 names on it. I think it is going to harder and harder to get registered.

I just read the waiting list has over 1700 names on it. I think it is going to harder and harder to get registered.

I think that’s a bit deceiving though, there are many people, like myself, that signed up on the waitlist even though they really had no plans to go, unless some miracle happened. I purposely waited probably at least almost a day before signing up, just to assure a high waitlist number so I wouldn’t take a low number someone who was more likely to go could get, and be more encouraged. I’m willing to bet there were many more doing the same. And people are catching on to skip trying to register and just sign up on the waitlist list if they have any doubts they will have their car done in time. Like usual, people are dropping like flies right now, and throwing in the towel on the Drag Week FB pages, or had life events come up. I foresee many openings on registration day. And like usual, there are tons of people on the waitlist list who would like to go, and are ready, but are still afraid of traveling, and being turned away. Drag Week isn’t for those with any normal common sense lol. Anyway, my bet is everyone gets in again, but it’s always a gamble, and it is a higher population density out there, could be more people that try, I guess we will see.

I hope you're right, Kevin. I am at the limit of my typing speed and I just barely got in this year.

For next year I was thinking of having 5 people all get on their computers and the first one to get in message the others to drop off.

Unfortunately, I'm scratching Drag Week this year. I lost in the registration race, and ended up on the wait list. I have not as of yet made it off the wait list and into the rolls of the registered racers. I had a drop dead date in my mind, that if I wasn't registered by, I wasn't going to waste the time and money and make the commitment to be ready, and that date has passed.
I've done drag week in 07,08,09,11,13,14,15,16,17,&18, so it kind of hurts to contemplate missing it, Drag Week gets in your blood. But I am also enjoying this late summer season without the burden of the thrash to be ready.

Good luck to all who are going!

I believe Scott Miller has posted on Facebook that he and his dad are planning on going this year, Scott has posted a couple pictures working on his car. Maybe he will see this & reply, but they may be too busy. I have seen pictures of a couple new Fords this year, although I don’t know yet what they have for power. I haven’t seen anything else FE powered.

I'm out. I found a bunch of bearing material in my oil filter when changing the oil Sunday.
