If you don't need fancy, I'd buy a new repop steel.  Stainless would be hard to repair or modify, plastic impossible probably, (although neither will need it anytime soon) and unless you are in the salt or want the stainless for looks, repops are cheap and mine looks brand new still after 10 years

Just for info sake I bought one for my ‘66 from Tanks Inc. They sent me one that was all set up for fuel injection and were great to deal with. They of course do all applications.
The tank itself was a regular mild steel deal nicely coated.

I use a 25 gallon poly fuel cell in the bed of my '63 Effie ICB. It's centered and the bands go to the bed and the back of the cab. It's red and after more than ten years, it has faded a bit. Otherwise just like it came out of the box.

I've used a lot of poly tanks where I can. They're impact resistant, don't rust and can be repaired by a couple methods (none of which are stellar but do work).

Down side is, in cases where the tank is easily visible a poly tank in an old car looks sorta funny. All of my old trucks have gone to poly tanks just for easy of use/no worry about rust.

I have never used an MTS brand, but just bought a 33 gallon big Bronco tank for a project I'm working on. Was 300 bucks with the tank, new sender, straps and isolators shipped.

Stainless is nice and doesn't look as out of place in older stuff, but they're pricey!
