Milodon windage tray, anyone use one?
« on: August 17, 2019, 05:25:05 PM »
Has anyone used a Milodon FE windage tray, P/N 32224

Loosely looks like a Ford version, but a little different.  Mostly wondering if any clearance issues or dipstick issues, going in a 4.25 stroke TFS headed 461, Molnar rods

Thanks!

I use the Canton screen.  20-938.  No problem on any of the stroker combos.   It rubs the pick-up tube on a Canton T-pan, but easy to clearance that without getting it too close to the rods on the top side.  I just don't like that stuff touching.  I think the screens are better than solid or louvered, just my opinion.

Thanks, just asking about the Milodon though. I agree though, Canton is good stuff

I tried the Milodon.
Took considerable effort to make it fit.
I use the same Canton as Blair on almost all of my builds, along with Moros pan & pickup

Sometimes there is a reason when we all end up in the same place....

Thanks Blair and Barry, Canton fan here too but always like to see alternatives, especially when it’s quiet on the net about a part.  It was almost like the interweb thought nobody had used one until you guys chimed in.  :)

I, too, use the Canton screen. I found it necessary to bend the tip of the dipstick just a bit to get it to clear. Just a little, still slid down the tube just fine.

OK, so this one is on a timeline, and you guys spooked me enough to get both the Canton and the Milodon.

If the Milodon doesn't fit, I'll have a backup plan.

More to come, thanks!
