How to separate ring gear questions on limited slip diff
« on: July 04, 2019, 03:48:50 PM »
Manual calls for using a press to control separation. Anything else I can do?
Thanks,
JB

This is the first video of a 4 part series. It might be of help.

Just like Bolted to Floor's
video link. Use a Brass drift and a hammer.

Good stuff there Bolted to Floor. Thanks much for that, vid showed me everything I wanted to know. If only all tutorials on YouTube were as well done as that guy.
He just unbolted the ring gear with no worries about stressing bolts due to pressure from the limited slip diff. That was what the factory manual was being cautious about and had me concerned.

Glad it helped. It took me about 3 times longer than the lengths of the videos to watch all of them......I kept falling asleep.  ::)

The videos are greatly detailed, but the guy is not overly entertaining.  :o
