hyd roller lifter on a solid roller cam?
« on: November 25, 2012, 08:42:56 PM »
I lost a comp roller lifter bearing. I pulled the cam and comp reground it for me. Im running crower solid roller lifters on it. Im worried i will have another failure. Im running this on the street. I wish i would have gone hyd roller from the start. Ive heard some say you can run hyd roller lifters on some solid roller cams. Is this possible? Thanks for any responses!!

I think the only issue you may have is the RPM range will not be as high with a hydraulic roller lifter.  If you are only running to 6000 RPM there's no reason why you can't make the switch, as far as I know.  I think that going the other way, running solid roller lifters on a hydraulic roller cam, could be a problem.

I'm surprised you lost a Crower solid roller lifter; I've had very good luck with them.  Do yours have the pin oiling feature?
