attach the OEM style "Ford" Blue Oval insignia plates? They are about 3" x 1" and have the OEM yellow-looking, double-sided tape (think it's tape!) with a pull-off liner. But since they are so old, the tape is barely sticky.

Any ideas on how to cement them on? Maybe some silicone? Gorilla glue? New double-sided tape?

I would just use contact adhesive. I doubt it'd ever let loose. Double sided tape will probably make it stick up to far, unless you can find the really thin stuff.

I use 3m weatherstrip adhesive.
It will hold about anything or you could use the new glues made for exterior trim.
You can all so use silicon gasket sealer.
You can get either at the auto paint store.

Good ol' yellow trim adhesive or 3M transparent mounting tape. It's double sided and comes on a roll like regular transparent tape. About the same thickness as well. I used it to mount the tags in the sill plates and my Shelby inserts into the frames. If you would like I'll walk out and get the product number for you.

Silicone doesn't work that well. I tried to use it on the Shelby gas cap emblem.
