Don't mind me, just moved out of the dark ages
« on: May 10, 2019, 12:23:41 PM »
Wanted to see if I could post a photo.  Didn't work, posted but didn't last.  I know there are tutorials on the process here and elsewhere, just need to figure out where I'm going wrong.  In the meantime this post can be deleted-
Thanks

You saving it to a hosting site?  Or just downloading from your computer?

If from your computer, use "attachments and other options" below the posting box, then "choose file".  Click your file on your computer.  It should show the file name in the box next to "choose file".

You can not "preview" the post with the pictures.  But after you post, the pictures should show, like mine.

Thanks gents, we'll figure it out.  I tried attaching from my computer and the files are too large.  I am using a hosting site, I've gotta be close to right cause they'll post but they just don't last.  If I can work this out I've got Beaver Springs video and photos to share, so I'll keep diggin' till I get it right.

Which hosting site?  If the Photo file/link gets changed/modified it will not show where you put the link(like this site).

Using Google Photo as a test bed.  You click on the picture to enlarge and isolate, then right click and select save image location.  Then, I click on image above to paste the photo here.  Works for a while then gone.  There is also a copy image function I can select on the Google site but when I try that I do not have the paste option when I try to bring it here.  Lots going on today so not much time to fool with anything, appreciate the input.  Link starts with "lh3.googleusercontent", don't see another address getting in the way.

Len, try sizing down the pictures a little.  I open all my pictures up in Paint, which is included with Windows, and reduce their size to 30% of original, then post them.  I have no idea why your pictures are showing up for a while, and then disappearing; that shouldn't be happening, but maybe the size has something to do with it.

Thanks all, the input helped a lot.  Went up a few posts and modified this afternoon, the pic is still there so all's well.  I'll stick another one on here just to see if I've got right-
