WTB - Stock Damaged CJ Aluminum Valve Cover
« on: April 18, 2019, 12:59:44 PM »
Looking for a stock CJ or Boss 302/351 die cast valve cover in rough shape to test a restoration process on.  While I have full confidence that it will come out great, I would rather test one that is only good for wall art.  Will buy or borrow, please let me know if you have anything.

Thanks,
Bobby

I've got a few that had holes drilled into the sides for some type of breather. An example, some I've cut the tube off most have the oil fill welded closed.

I can loan one to you, just pay shipping.

That pipe nipple isn’t stock, lol?  That is exactly what I’m looking for. I will PM you and get the info to send a shipping label to you. You can send a pair if you like so they look alike.

It will be interesting to see your results and compare to the 2 sets I have that are very close to new.
I'll post some pictures later after I see your method.

Ball is in your court,
I'll send a pair to you once I get a shipping address as we did in the PM. .
I do have some Cal Custom VC's for FE's and Boss 302's that I really don't want to polish but that's my only current option.
Thanks

Richard

Here's a look at a few of the parts that I've done, simply vapor blasted, no coating of any kind.
