Question on Jays valve cover
« on: March 06, 2019, 11:16:38 AM »
I noticed that the bolt holes on Jay’s v/c are threaded near the top of the holes and was wondering what was the purpose of the threads.

Michael, those holes are threaded so that I can take a completed valve cover and bolt it onto a special fixture, for modifications or engraving.  Those are 7/16-14 threads, so they don't interfere with the 5/16" bolts that go through the holes, and my fixture uses those threads to hold the valve cover - Jay

Thanks for the reply. That was one of my guesses but having all five of them threaded  through  me off. I was hoping it was some secret future use for the covers.
