Scan tool to bleed 2001 Mustang ABS ...

Pads were changed on a 2001 Mustang, not sure what procedure was used

ABS light is on, brakes work fine, not mushy

Any know of a scan tool to bleed the ABS ??

I read of some having an auto bleed feature

Unless system was opened during brake job I  wouldn’t think bleeding would be the problem.
1) If rotors were changed make sure ABS ring is on rotor
2) Check for possible sensor or sensor wire damage
3) If you can get your hands on a scanner (I have always used a Snapon Solus or Modis.) read the codes in the ABS section of the scanner willing to bet there’s a code from a mistake. And more than likely an easy fix.
4) And you should be able to bleed them with the scanner but again unless they were opened by the shop that performed the brake job check the first 3 steps first.

Does it require you to have an internet connection? What adapter do you use, I see there are several to pick from is there one that works wiuth all types of obd2 ports?

No, you don't need an internet connection. The Forscan software requires certain versions of the ELM327 chip (its on their website), but I can't speak to the compatibility with other software. The link I sent is for the tool I own, maybe you need to scroll down past the other tools to become visible.

The tool will work with all OBD2 ports, but Forscan is for Ford, Lincoln, Mercury, and Mazda. I have some software that accesses all makes, though the company is now defunct. A little research will yield a vast selection of software, so just do a little research.

Comparing Forscan with my other software: the free version of Forscan is vastly more detailed, it even has the ability to program PATS keys, though you need to purchase a license for that feature (I've never needed to program keys).
