Went to the machine shop yesterday to see how the new engine was progressing. The short block is complete. The forged 390 pistons had to have the tops cut so the tops would not stick up past the decks. I already knew that would happen with the 428 crank. Bought a new eagle crank cause the old one was scratched and bent. The block. Rods and lifter bores were honed and the cam degrees. He was checking the heads and valve clearances yesterday. The intake will have to be test fitted also because the dark was cut. So far 2500 dollars in machining and parts. I probably could have switched to the 460 for what it's going to cost to do this fe. Too late now. I stacked up on fe blocks.
