An old logger friend of mine had one of those old Dodges with a 413. He swapped in a Cummins and the old 1st gen 4 spd auto of the era and a 5831c aux like mine. It kept breaking flex plates tho, so he finally parked it and bought a newer more modern one, lol.

An hour ago I found a crack in my trailer between the axles. The person got a little weird when I told them I wouldn't be there at 8 tomorrow because I was going to find a rental. I thanked them for there time and told them I wouldn't be there at anytime. Since the only time to move it is 8-3 I am under the impression they are a realtor. Likely has an generator, factory 390 or 460. Could have had an over drive added at some time. Never know till you pop the hood.

Heck yeah, the price is right. That would take pretty good sized trailer, I would assume they would want the tarps and pallets removed with it. Maybe you could stuff them inside so they wouldn't take up trailer room.  Too bad about your trailer and having to pass it up.

I picked up a 18'x82" dovetail bumper pull on Craigslist. For $800 I figured I would find something but wished I had noticed it while I was hanging lights, repacking bearings and putting brakes on it. Here is a picture from when I first got it. The stupid thing is you can see where the crack starts in this picture. I didn't see it until I mocked up the patch panel.

Hauled off a Class A Dodge a couple of years ago. Rented a trailer for that one.

There won't be a 390 or 428 CJ in that. It is likely a 351W or a 460. Might have an oil cooler and other cool bits.

Was the front axle still under it, looks like the one I got my axle off of, Lol. I don't recommend using one for a transplant, they are weird built. The wishbone/knuckle is backward from a standard straight axle. The wishbone is on the axle...ya gotta drive them. I saw an article in a Trailer Life magazine about them, they wrote the reader that they were no good from the get go and about the only thing you can do to help them is use radial tires. I have 215/75x17.5, 16 ply on mine.

Yeah but I didn't use it. It had an open 4.10 Dana 70, 440 and 727. Stuck a carburetor and gas can on it and moved the beast under its own power. The 440 now powers a 62 Chrysler in DFW and the shell left soon after. Oddly enough the rear axle perches were in the same spot as my 65 F-250.

According to the grille it is a 75-78, why wouldn't it have a 390?

I am thinking the Econoline didn't ever use an FE, but I am not sure.

I think most motorhome frame width (dually) is the same as Cab Chassis, standard 34". I think the F series 4x2 was the same until '73 and the 4x4 changed in '77.5.

I see. Well at least there is the possibility of some sort of overdrive/underdrive addition. DNEs were around then.
