power valve choice
« on: December 29, 2018, 09:26:44 AM »
The holleys I am running were set up with #45 power valves.  I showed about 16 inches of vacuum at idle.  Would the change back to #65 be wise while I have the bowls off?

Yes.  idle vacuum is generally a poor way to measure anyway it's sort of a big Holley-led band-aid that often makes a conservative choice.  However, in your case a 6.5 should work well.  Hard to tell what factory was without a tester and an original, but what I have seen in the past is an 8.5.  6.5s usually work pretty well in everything
