McLeod Twin disc Clutch RXT 1200- $450

A friend bought this at a local demo sale. It comes with everything except the alignment tool. No box. It looks to have never been fully installed but the adapter plate may have been fitted to a flywheel. 1 3/8 - 10 spline  McLeod part# 6921-06HD
 This was more than likely used as a display item and usaully sales for $1000+        He's just looking to get rid of it $450 shipped.

Wonder if this setup would work in a pulling truck application?

I think these are mostly marketed towards high horsepower street/strip vehicles. The Mcleod 4400 series is a similar twin disc setup that is specifically designed for truck pull applications.

For anyone still interested I recently learned that this setup requires a hydraulic clutch. McLeod's tech was not much help answering why the standard fork and throwout bearing would not work. From what I've seen most people here are not running hydraulic clutches. This is why I decided to move this over to eBay.

I'll answer this for anybody who is interested......

The diaphragm fingers will interfere with the input shaft collar when the fingers are depressed. The clutch will mount up and everything seems fine, but when the clutch pedal is pushed in, the collar interferes and wont allow full motion of the diaphragm fingers. To get around this, McLeod tells you to machine the input shaft collar off of the transmission and mount up a retrofit hydraulic throwout bearing.

For anybody here that has the equipment and ingenuity.... The diaphagm fingers can be shortened by a small amount and this situation can be solved. It would require some sort of cnc plasma cutter or waterjet with a turntable.

This must be an issue with the 1 3/8 input. I had 25K miles on my first one that I beat on a lot. The replacement is ging strong and no machining required.
