Can A 428FE BE Bored/Stroked To 428cid ?

A friend has a 428 and would like to have 482 cubes like the 427, but can the cylinder walls take the larger bore of 4.25 ?
(Think it's 4.25 ?)

I will go out on a limb here and say no.  I have never seen or heard of a 428 block safely being bored more than +.070, and even then it was not safe.  Some blocks can't take more than +.040, but with sonic check and off-set boring, you might get to +.070.  I have seen blocks being bored to 4.230", but they broke into water and that proved they were not capable of running at that bore size.  Not a good idea.  Joe-JDC

A .030" over 428 with a 4.375" stroke crank is 476 cubes.

i would bore it the least amount possible , some good custom pistons and the 4.375 crank as Brent suggested and not be to overly concerned with the over all cid.

If it didn't go through into water it would be so fragile you couldn't have fun/beat on it , not worth it at all

Starting from the perspective that a good 428 block is rare thing, and that there are many ways to optimize performance, taking the bore out to the limits risks consigning that block to the smelter.

If we were talking about an SBC, I'd say why not try the limits, but it is a relatively scarce block. My question is - is this a pursuit of 482 CI, or pursuit of max performance?

Nope, he just wanted to ask as had a 454 big block Chevy bored to 468 cu. I told him no on the 428 bore, but don't think he beleived me. lol
He bought a 69' Ford truck and this block. It also cane with aluminum heads, but I don't know what brand.

Absolutely certain it cannot and be reliable in any way.  However a 462 is a running son of a gun.

This truck isn't white and has a speed shop logo on the door does it?
