What is the color for the third member on a 9 inch, taking the 4.11s out and putting 3.70s in.
Would like to paint ham the original color.

Rustoleum red primer is what I've always been told and what I use. I do a second coat with a clear flat, to seal the primer. It seems to hold up pretty well.

The original finish was like red oxide primer but it had a sealed look rather than the fuzzy look of primer. Shooting some matte clear on it would be one approach. I use X-O red primer because it actually goes on with a smooth finish and looks like the original finish. Get it at Tru Valu.

and some use it to paint engines inside to clog up oil
