Scavenger Hunt continues - - iron heads for sale
« on: July 26, 2018, 01:38:11 PM »
Not sure if anybody wants these.

Cleaning up the shop

Trying to decide if I should clean them up and fix them to sell as complete - - or just sell the castings - - or just send them to the scrap guy (really hate that idea)

Right now assume that most are crusty & dusty - some might have been cleaned but then they sat again for a long time

C8AE-H - 4 pairs
C4AE-G - 3 pairs
C7AE-A - 1 pair
C3AE-C - 1 pair - SOLD
C6AE-R - 1 pair

Make me an offer "as is" - or make me an offer all fixed up - or???

What condition are the C3AE-C in? I might be interested in these for a stock 390, and can pick up at the Woodward Cruise.

Did you ever have a chance to check out those C3AE-C heads?

Sorry it took so long...

The C3AE heads look pretty decent.  Appears that they were cleaned once, decked, then put aside.  Seats are not sunken, no broken bolts.  Some surface rust from sitting.  Guides are still original (did not check size).  Exhaust side on one has some pretty deep pitting - must have sat outside at some point - but nothing that a bit of silicone would not seal up.

Give me a fair price for those in working order - if you have time in the next two weeks - and I can pick up over the Woodward weekend. I am guessing you have some take out valves and springs that can be installed in those guides.

The heads arrived last night. I have yet to open the boxes, but thank you.
