Change the light spring to a heavy one.  Check if there is any loosenes inthe spring arm. Consider bending arm out slightly to tighten spring.

Make sure transfer ports in metering block are not too  lean. Make sure there is not any vacuum leaks.

thanks, thats some stuff i can try.i might go up a couple sizes on my primary jets since im running open headers and no breather and see what that does.im just a seat of the pants driver with very few special tools so anything i change i will have to go for a ride to see if it helps

Check your headers and gaskets.  Had what sounded like a "tap" at idle that sounded for all the world like valve train noise.  Turned out to be fancy carbon fiber header gaskets leaking under the ports.

no vav advance.could it need better gas.it has speed pro forged alu pistons.i think 10.6-10.7 and i dont know how much the block was decked.my uncle had my engine done for me at the machine shop and he would not let me see the receipt because he did it as a gift and didn't tell me how much he spent, but the receipt was about 2 or 3 feet long.the reason i think it might need better gas is i usually mix 110 with my 93 and here lately i haven't put any 110 in it.
