Do You Use Thread Locker ?
« on: May 16, 2018, 05:47:52 PM »
Honestly, do you use it or not ?

A great friend that has a auto shop, engine builder, chassis dyno etc, says he never does with no issues with his own or customer engines.
Says definetly not the Red, as you'll never get that part off !  lol...

I can see for the crank, but I've never used them on any part, with no issues in 40 years of mild building.
Some say always, others never. What's your thoughts ?

Cam bolt -red

Carbs I use blue on butterfly screws, green on boosters.
The stuff is hard and dangerous when removed, so don't use it where it is exposed, and clean REALLY well if removing the parts at a later date.

I should have asked, which brand of red & blue.
Getting ready to install my flywheel, so I want the correct color.
 I assume blue ?

Do you guys ever use the red ?
