1964 Ford Fairlane front fender removal
« on: May 02, 2018, 08:36:47 PM »
OK, I just ordered a Ford Factory Shop Manual on CD from themotorbookstore.   But does anyone on here know the combination to remove the front fenders on a 1964 Fairlane.  I have all the bolts out , but there is something at the top rear of the fender holding it on.  I have tried to slide, twist and anyting else I can think of.   Is there someting under the dash that has to come out to remove the fender .  There is no youtube video I can find to remove the front fenders of a 1964 Fairlane.    I feel like a big dummy asking this question

On my '66 there's a bolt at the top rear that's only accessible by fully opening the door.

There is a hidden bolt at the very top of the back part of the fender.  If I remember right its way up there behind the dash.  Welcome to the mystery of early mid-sized Fairlane - as in why in the heck did they do that, among other mysteries.
