2018 FE Race & Reunion Thank You!!!
« on: April 30, 2018, 05:30:04 PM »
Thanks to everyone who attended the 2018 FERR. I truly believe this was the biggest/best one yet. This really has become an international event with FE enthusiasts attending from all over the world. My only regret is that I was unable to spend more time talking with everyone and just hanging out. Thanks to Beaver Bob McCardle and Mike A Mccracken for all of their hard work and effort that helped make this the greatest gathering of FE's ever. Thanks again to everyone and spread the word about the event You all are the best advertisement that we have!! See you all next year!!!

Jody, thanks to you and Doug for putting this on, it was a great time.  I wish it could somehow be made into a three day event, because its such a long drive for me to get there I'd like to spend even more time with the FE crowd.  Worth every mile driven to attend, though.  Already looking forward to next year!

As much as the weather was iffy at times my brother and I enjoyed being there again. Even made it to the qtr finals and won a few bucks!!!!  One scary run where the car pushed to the edge of the right lane after the rain.... YIKES!!!!!

Spoke to Mike McCracken and the track is in good hands!!!

I'da thunk it'd have been a painfully long two days staring at all the dents in the walls !  ;D

If it was a week I wouldn't mind a bit, that was  truly great event

I agree on a 3 day event schedule which would be especially helpful for those who need to travel any distance. I usually won't tow 4 hours away for a 1 day deal so 50 hours for 2 days when the weather is questionable certainly is out of the question. I'd also like to see the date moved back some to try hit better weather but understand why it is when it is. At any rate, great job by everyone involved and those lucky enough to attend. I'm sure Rory will have plenty of stories for me in a few days.

It would be really cool to have one full day of test and tune, maybe some grudge racing.

I'm apparently in the minority, but I think two days is the right length of time.

Ouch! And this coming from an event 'rookie' ;)
My boss at work knew I wasn't happy when I went to work Monday morning. He guessed why right away.

I had asked several years ago about pushing the event back for weather reasons. Not sure but I recall being told that the track has other scheduled events on most weekends. Still, seems there ought to be a free one in there someplace.

Probably not in the minority as 3 days is tough on us old guys but when Friday is a set up day along with a test and tune, Saturday you do time trials, qualifying and exhibition with Eliminations on Sunday. That way you can show up Saturday and still play or if there Friday get a few runs in. Assuming the weather is good there wouldn't be any need to run late evening and more time for socializing. Also allows more time in case of excessive humidity and on track delays.

Hell, Don Fotti was there for a week. :)
