A big THANKS
« on: April 29, 2018, 10:09:40 AM »
Even after I put my new fuel system in still had some problems with the car on Friday, there
Was no shortage of help, between about 8 to 10 guys and me we tried multiple things and it got better and better and we worked on it till about 9:00 at night. By Saturday it was running good enough that I was able to make some half way descent time trial runs. Car ran better and better as Saturday went along, good enough that I made it to the finals and broke out by 2 hundreds of a second and the guy I
Raced broke out by 1 hundreds of a second. COULD NOT HAVE DONE IT WITHOUT YOU GUYS. I
Brought my dad and the ride home all he could say is he met some of the nicest people ever.
Thanks Steve,Ed,Cotton,T bird guy(willing to give me a bunch of springs and bushings I forgot home)
Larry (offering a pair of carbs to try)another older gentleman that use to race a 65 galaxies as a kid and a bunch of other guys that I don’t remember there names. Well I could go on but had a great time
Rain delays and all. New owner is a nice guy also.

Congrats!! That's a darn sight better than the year you had least year! I was watching the end of day races on the live feed, and was able to catch all the finals. I thought that was your car but it was kinda hard to tell for sure with the shaky video quality. To come back after fighting problems like that is just awesome!

Great job!!  Wished I had a better weekend of racing but was glad to offer my assistance.
I was down with Cotton helping him work through his issues.  Then to Bill Troth to help get his car running.  I did keep busy!

Was glad to meet up with everyone.  I gripe about the drive over but I always want to be there.

Joe,

It was pleasure pitting next to you at the Race and Reunion! Your car is awesome and your family is fantastic. I hope that we are able to get together again before next year's event!

Cotton was making headway when the rain started Saturday.  I never did see him make the third time trial or how it ran.   It came down to severe lean condition was causing most of the problems.  I started with jetting it back up and reinstalling the power valves(he had jetted it down instead of up after removing PV).  I had him put his air cleaner back on to cut down on the ram air effect of the hood scoop.  With only a 5/16" fuel line, stock pump and that 850 HP, it was just not getting enough fuel at the top half of the track.   I figured the air cleaner might richen it up and actually make it run faster overall?  I told him about upgrading the fuel system to at least 3/8" or 1/2" line and big(ger) pump.

He asked for my contact information Saturday, but we got separated and I never gave it to him.  Super nice guy, with back issues(like me) and his kid has to do all the work for him right now.

Yes I really need to go to USA, I need to buy heads and some other parts.
I save more than the price of the flight if i Carry them home by my self.
And probably there is vendors at the reunion that have  the parts i need.
If it  was a little later so the summer had started i had told the wife to
pack the bags and gone this year. And had a couple of weeks vacation

Not maybe, he IS going or we have to go the Germany and drag him there.

Was that the graveyards behind and beside S&K ?  I noticed Babylon seems to be right there beside Lindenhurst. They told me Shafiroff shut the shop,  I had hoped to go there.
We are going to Simeone Museum tomorrow, went to Hershey to the chocolate museum and AACA one. Wow, that Tucker collection is amazing. They also had a 70 Merc California fuzz car with 428PI to keep this on topic.

yes there is a graveyard neaxt to it. They just redid the place a few years back there was also one in Rockville center
that they closed and made this one nicer. Colin is the guy that runs it. Shafiroff is still in business he was big years ago with all his big block chevy stuff. Then you didnt hear much about him and now hes busy again building everything.
