All of us who are direct with Scat can get them.

Lead time will probably be 3-4 months, give or take.

Pricing depends on what you want and what options you want.....center counterweights, etc, etc.

They also have semi-finished forgings available.  Somewhere in between a forged and a true billet in both lead time and cost.  What are you looking to build - in general?

 It's been awhile but I was quoted $2200-2500ish on the Scat custom and $3,000 and change on the billet looking at a  dressed out 4.4 stroke crank. I might be off a touch without my sheet but the price was close enough I figured I might aswell plunk down the difference for a Crower that was "only" $3200 at the time. Retail on that Crower is now around $3700 from Jegs/Summit. I also contacted Moldex which was 2k to work over a 391 FT crank to 4"... which also lead me back to thinking Crower.

well, my thoughts are a big cube, big power, big RPM, alcohol,  roots style blown high riser or tunnel port, (depending on if i can sell the TP heads) old school combo in a X IHRA pro stock/top sportsman, lenco shifted 2006 mustang. sure, its still not gonna compete with the 598+ cid 385 series but im FE through and through and it should be a blast on the outlaw1/8th mile tracks around here. lots of old but good used parts that i know a good bit of history on. maybe a good properly prepped forged crank would do..

Thanks Barry, for sure would eliminate some headaches.  On the budget blower motor we opened up a big block Chevy crank mandrel to fit the 391 crank snout. I'm guessing it would be a good idea to shorten the snout on the 391 crank when adding the extra key way to eliminate alignment issues.  Still need standard journal rods for that build and really not wanting to use eagle. Are the RPM rods better ? Does molnar make standard journal rods ?

Best one we did used BBC rods.  We shortened the snout and used a remote water pump.  Pulled the pulley in close to the timing cover and got rid of that looooong nose on the blower - figured it would cut down on the load on front end bearings.

You absolutely want a BBC rod journal for a build like that.  You need to aim to use a very high quality rod, like a Crower, Oliver, Carrillo, etc.

Yes sir, i totally agree, for my projected build that's what it will be.
My reference to the standard size rod is for the low budget blower pro street 390 , steel heads, 391 crank engine that's slowly going together for my niece's husband.

I was going to have Adney Brown do me a 3.98 stroke truck crank with 2.20 journals. He has some with the snouts already turned. I was going to use the Scat Pro Comp rod with an ARP 2000 bolt...good for 7500+ on a motor like that.
