...Also the 2018's have auto start that I don't like and shut off every time I drive it.

I didn't save it, but there is a YouTube video showing how to pull the switch out of the dash and connect 2 wires together to short the circuit, permanently bypassing this "feature". Search YT or check the FTE.

Thanks. Yea, I found it, might be something to try. I did buy a trailer hitch tester for $5 and that defeats it but it also shuts off my rear camera.
Rear cameras are standard now on 2018's.

Standard camera? I would prefer to continue feigning lack of tech when I back up over a pedestrian in a parking lot. No need to change a proven tactic.

Edit: Wait just a cotton-pickin' minute. Wouldn't you want a rear camera when you are backing up the trailer?

I misspoke, it defeats the backup sensors that use the camera I think.  I really don't remember at this moment.  I'll have to try it again if I can find the trailer light tester.

rcode, does your new F150 have a automatic trailer reversing option? I was looking at ordering a 2018 F150, thinking that it could be kinda a compromise if I sold me other 2 trucks. For towing, I have my 1999 F350 Dually supercab 2WD(V10 5 speed), tows great but way too big to park in downtown underground parking lots, or parallel  park IF I could find very rare street parking. Not to mention, it ain`t great on gas. For commuting, I have a 2010 Ranger 4 cyl 5speed reg cab, & even that is sometimes hard to find parking for, amongst all the Minis, Priuses, and "Smart Cars" that populate downtown Vancouver. I would likely go with the 5.0 V8 and 10 speed, with either 3.55 or 3.73 gears, in a regular cab short box, 2WD. I gotta admit, until I saw a clip on Youtube, where a guy took his brand new stock 2018 F150 5.0 to the strip, and reeled off some low 13s,I had no real interest in a new truck.

Sorry for not responding sooner, this site does not notify me of replies to threads I have posted on. Anyway I do not have the automatic trailer reversing option. I remember researching the option since I ordered the truck I could have gotten it. After reading the manual on it, I decided I just wouldn't really trust it. It's probably fine though. Wow low 13,s, I wonder how fast my truck is then being it's a 4X4.
