Drag week is coming to Bristol this year. We (Straub Technologies) are thinking of putting on a "meet and greet" the day before since we're about 7 mi. from Bristol, then heading to the track the next day. Anyone attending the event is invited.

Attending a "meet and greet" would be near impossible for anyone actually in the event, or even just following along. Since Bristol is on the 4th day of the event, everyone will just be concerned about getting to their hotels in one piece that night, then getting to the track the following morning. Most people are lucky just to get to their hotels by dark, then the real work starts to take care of any issues that came up during the days drive. Just an FYI.

I'm in! I completed my registration at 4 mins+ and my reg number is 290. After a lot of serious thought and flipping a coin I ended up entering my '65 Mustang in the Super Street BB N/A class so there will be one more FE powered Ford in the ranks this year.  Now all I need to do is get it road worthy and put some miles on it. Oh yeah, AND upgrade the fuel system AND swap motors AND fix my Gear Vendor AND AND AND! :)
Glad to hear you made it in Doug. See you in September!

Alan, congratulations on getting in. After making a couple of stoopid mistakes, and the time to change them, I ended up number 309, right at 5 minutes. After a lot of serious thought, I decided NOT to enter the Mach 1. I just didn't want to haul the trailer that far on I-75. Instead, I decided to get the '65 Galaxie in shape for the trip and take it. It's all stock, so I won't be having much fun racing this year, just going to be a part of the event and enjoy all the action for a change....in luxury  ;D  At least it's FE powered, so I'll keep my self proclaimed trophy of using nothing but FE engines during Drag Week, including towing.

I believe my wife and my son will be going this year. Can't wait to see your Mustang, Alan.

Doug, I have to tell you it was a REAL hard decision for me. Up until about 30 mins before go time I still hadn't completely decided. I even had dual cheat sheets filled out for registration. I really do like running DW in my Galaxie but I wanted to step up into the ranks of the "roll bar required" guys( I hope so anyway!) and I didn't want to put a bar in the Galaxie. The trailer thing is something I'll have to work out too. It's about an 18 hr drive for me so that ought to be interesting to say the least.

Heo, yes it's the same Galaxie that was in my garage when you visited. That trunk actually helped me make the decision. Plenty of space for all the stuff I need without having to pull a trailer. In fact, I'm now figuring out how to install the kitchen sink and a shower in there.  ;D

With a Mustang notch-back, yes you will, Alan! You'll definitely need a trailer.
