New '66 Fairlane Repro Grille
« on: February 02, 2018, 10:40:44 AM »
Hi y'all, thought I would let you know of the recent repro grille installation on my Fairlane.  Dennis Carpenter started repro'ing these so I thought I'd give one a try.  It comes assembled with the upper and lower moldings, using hardware similar to the original.  The center "spinner" is not included so you'll have to use your old one or find a good used one.  Btw the plastic inserts in the spinners are also available repro.

Fe-Starliner and all:  ha!  Didn't know the center emblem bezel "spinner" was also available repro.  Thanks for letting us know..  Another btw, if you're looking for a deal their site sometimes offers discounts for a limited period.  I was able to buy my grille assy. at a 15% discount by using a code that was given on the main page of the site. I imagine they offer this from time to time.

Thanks for the heads-up, Bruce! Your car looks terrific! I like the quality of DC's parts, and it looks like these are very nice as well.

Side note: Do you or anyone else have a source for the armrest bases for the rear and lenses for the front bases?

Nightmist,
For your armrest bases I found:
Autokrafters (https://www.autokrafters.com/p-7555-armrest-base-66-fairlane-xl-and-gt.aspx) has a listing for those but I don't see the lenses.

Macs Auto Parts has them too (https://www.macsautoparts.com/ford_fairlane_torino/arm-rest-base-chrome-plated-plastic-as-original-fairlane-500xl-and-gt.html?crosssell=Homepage_Featured_Category_Door++%0D%0A.  They say to use your existing lights and wiring and give a part no. for the lens.  They're kinda pricey but at least they're available!

Btw, my car is a 500 so it uses the plain vanilla black armrest base with no lighting.
Hope this helps!

Thanks for those links, Bruce. I have dealt with both companies before. Unfortunately, the lenses are discontinued it says. I know they were available for a short time a couple years ago. Didn't have the money at the time.  :(  The rear armrest bases I have are chrome like the fronts, but shorter. I don't see any of those listed anywhere.
