An acquaintance of mine bought, from the third or fourth owner, the second-design Falcon that was, at first, Dave Lyall's AF/X car. It was a roller and he first intended to put a 351 Windsor motor in it. Then he called me, knowing I had a complete 427 setting in the garage. I told him 'no' because I intended to put it back in my Cougar.
A couple of months later, he called one more time and offered to GIVE it to me---his plans had changed again and he'd only paid about a hundred bucks for it. I told him 'no' because I didn't have a handy place to store it and couldn't make any immediate use of it.
When the big Super Ford swap meet and show was being held in Dearborn at Fairlane a few years later, it showed up with a 427 wedge back in it---The price tag was $300,000.00.
