The Brake booster worked flawless
Here FElony you have the idle with a CompCams 282 S. 864 rpm here, 14 deg ign
390 .040 squish, streetmaster, 870 Holly ,Duraspark and MSD
Probably i can give it more ign and idle it down to 6-700

Well i don't know if i feel better, completely exhausted :D.
I'm restless after 3 weeks more or less in bed so feels
nice to test drive it. And the new ignition and booster
and booster brackets i made works. And today the snow
finally started to thaw.
Been the worst winter i can remember spring is a couple
of weeks late
I hope i have the strengt to wash it to morrow

Boy do I feel you there.
I’m looking at it as a work out though. Keeps me young and purty. 8)

I'm in North of Sweden, right at the top of gulf of Bothnia
30 miles from the Finish border.
Yes this was the worst winter i can remember 44 inches of snow
down to 40 in the pics.
Last days the spring really kicked in so down to 25-30 inches now
Rained the whole night so that should have washed the salt away from the roads

I Built this engine last summer and got 500-600 miles on it.
I broke in the cam with Gulf Classic oil with zinc.
Changed to some special oil i don't remember the name, Methanol compatible
on recommendation of the guy that ported my heads.
He had just started to sell it so i was given a "Sample" was very sticky and
slippery on the fingers.
Anyway i got 5-600 miles on the engine last summer and thought
it lacked some power.  But as its 30 years since i built a 390 i thought i remember
them faster than they where. And 4000 lbs car with 2.82-1 and 29 inch tires so...
Had some blowby but the rings had a real big camfer in the gap.
But i had not time to send them back and wait for another set
I played a bit with the 870 i had first, got rid of the stumble but still lacking power
Changed for a recurved Duraspark from Drew Pojedineck and a MSD 6
changed to a 800 DP woke the engine up some. Changed oil  The headguy live 80 miles
from me so i didn't bother go there just for new oil. Bought Castrol magnatec from another friend.
While i was playing with the springs in dist and tested i had to lover the idle from time to time,
thought it was ignition related. The more i drove it the better it run...Idea..The rings is finally seating
with cheaper oil so today i have driven it accelerated, shifted manually, enginebraking, runs much better now
No sign of blowby from the filler cap really Strong down low now pulls strong as long as i dare to keep my boot
in the boiler room, 6000 i guess no tac.  Kickdown at 65 mph it just roars and take of so the dog starts to tremble
and show its teeth's
Higher vaccum the trans have better shift points
Must have been the oil was to slick to seat the rings

Now i believe the 400+hp. Feels stronger than the wife's SL 500 that's about same weight and 328 hp DIN Net
Translates to approximately 400 SAE Gross
She beat me in topspeed though i suspect... 298 kmh

Finally a new exhaust. Just need to shorten the rubber strap
on the left hanger so the pipes are the same height
Sounds better IRL

Testing and tuning a little, close now i think maybe
i try bigger primary jets
And i really need to get rid of the 2.72 rear gear

Got the re cored radiator today. Ouch how expensive a re core
is today, But i refuse to buy a Aluminium radiator. I also got some
brackets from the powdercoater......I dont know, i think they are
a bit to "flat" needs slight more shine compared to the undisturbed
stock paint under hood

and got this two helpers when i tried to take the pics ::)

I like the Swedish vintage Ford advertisement.

I've had to have a couple radiators recored where I work, out of necessity since no replacements were available. They were real expensive too. The guy who had the shop told me that cores are very expensive and hardly anyone does it anymore because buying a new imported part is cheaper. He's right, there used to be a radiator shop in nearly every town when I was growing up. Now this guys shop is the only one around for a long ways, and he's 4 towns away, about 40 miles.
