Looks like Doug's Mustang

Roadkill article about the last day of Dragweek 2017 leads off with a nice picture  ;) It would make a good screen saver. Quite a few good pictures in the photo gallery. Here's the link:

That is my car. I saw that picture looking over their website. The guy took a bunch of pictures of it at the end of day 5, mentioning how the lighting was perfect. Guess that's the only one he liked..lol

Drew, you've got to be more specific. A minnow is a fish, but so is a shark ;D

I don't know about famous. I had several people come up to me and mention a 'cammer Mustang' that had been there previously, and initially thought my car was it. I told them they never put a cammer in a Mustang, so it was obviously a fake. ;D ;D  Seriously though, I explained about Jay's car, and how he couldn't make it this year. While my car did garner some attention from the older FE crowd, which was really fun talking to people about, Jay's car makes an obvious impression on EVERYONE who sees it. And deservedly so.

It's definitely a shark's mouth, designed to eat Chevvies all day long!  ;)

Congrats on finishing Drag Week this year Doug! Maybe you already mentioned this, but how did your cooling system hold up this year? If I remember right, things got a little hot while stuck in traffic during last years Drag Week.

BTW, David Freiburger couldn't get enough of your car. I think I heard two or three times on the Live Feed how he loved the Mickey Thomson look of your car.  So do I!

John, the only time my car has ever come close to overheating was last year during DW. It only happened in a half mile long traffic jam that didn't move for periods at a time. And I couldn't shut the car off because of my then hot starting issue. My cooling system does really well and never even hinted at getting hot this time around. It hit 190 at its highest, through a small town with busy traffic on a warm day of 87*. I have no doubt that an electric fan would cure any low speed or idling issues that would ever develop, but I never encounter them in my typical driving, and I like to keep the car as mechanically stock'ish' looking as I can. In fact, I want to ditch the aluminum pulleys (underdrive for the waterpump, BTW), paint the water pump and modify a Ford distributor, ditching the billet MSD, to keep it old-school looking.

That's great to hear Doug. I'm glad the cooling issue did not creep up again.

Fair enough, fair enough.

Either way, good job surviving another drag week Doug

Can't argue with that, but it's about 2000 lb test line, so it'll take more than a bass boat ;D
