Ordered the Amazon unit, will report on it when I can.  Good timing - light went out in the blaster unit, so I ordered some bright undercab LEDs to put in the blaster box too.  Broke watch band, ordered pins to fix.  Last week was filter for race fuel funnel.  You want it, they got it LOL. Shoulda got a box of wings and thighs, extra cripsy while I was at it...

Ha, just the opposite with me.  Went on Amazon, signed up for a free week of prime and tried to buy a set of mirrors for my F100.  They pinged my card for a buck and then reimbursed it to check on validity and funds as is normal practice.  Once they verified all was well they canceled my order because they couldn't access my card :o.  Problem not on my end, my bank said all is well and they hadn't refused anything.  I made 3 attempts, the last one with Amazon customer service on the phone (I could make out about 90% of his side of the conversation).  He said all is well, place the order again, rejected again.  Sent them an email to delete me from their records, went to my neighbor's house and let him place the order.  Yuck >:(

You never know.  I run a big network - 220 access points, 250 switches, 600meg twice internet pipes, firewalls, the whole kaboodle.   Our network management system sends out alerts as needed.  Wife switched her phone from AT&T to Sprint - now wife phone doesn't receive certain alarm texts.  SMS Text is SMS text.  You'd think.  Forward one misc email from home account (GoDaddy web space) to work - no problem.  Forward Hemmings daily update so I don't have to read it on a 5" screen - kicked back as spam by GoDaddy servers.  Do what?

Aetna mail order pharmacy - Prepaid medical debit card on file.  Order medicine, get email that charge refused.  Call bank - they used the wrong zip code.  Call Aetna - "Your zip code shows as xxxxx".  That's right, but you are hitting my bank with the home address of the card + WORK ZIP CODE with your charge data.  ID10T error.  Two years with Aetna as work coverage, they could NEVER fix the problem. 3 phone calls every stinking prescription fill, same deal.  "We fixed it, won't happen again."  Happened again. Different insurance now, but use Sams Club because it's 1/2 the price of the insurance run pharmacys.

Our Amazon bill runs maybe $700/mth - depending.  "Alexa, put xyz on my shopping list."  "OK".  I use a baby aspirin with my BP medicine.  5 left in the bottle.  "Alexa, look up Bayer Low Dose Aspirin Orange Flavor" "Bayer 81 mg blah-blah-misc info.  Would you like me to place the order?"  "Yes" "OK" Two days later, aspirin is here.  Didn't have to get up and go anywhere.  Did it cost more than Walgreens?  Couple of bucks.  But it's 40 miles+ round trip to Walgreens too.  My time + gas is not free.

Now lazy, flat azz in the bed  - "Alexa, turn off the living room light" "OK"  $30/pop to wifi switches - one at a time  8)

A good 21st century joke - Amazon's Alexa may be a cross between Elf on the Shelf and HAL 9000.

640x480 basic resolution.  Fished down the intake on the dragster up next to an open valve.  I forgot to turn it up to a higher res so I'll have to try it on something else later.  This wifi version is way less hassle to hook to the phone or tablet than a corded model.
