Bolt through the motor mount

Can anybody post a picture of how they bolted through the motor mount? I'm having second thoughts on how I went about it.

I drilled through the mount and tapped the plate that sits against the frame mount. Ran the bolt through from the block side and left it flush with the plate.

I'm not having luck finding a post, much less one with pictures that still works.  and I haven't taken the time find a new hosting setup either.

Because of the vibrations experienced at the engine mounts, you will need to drill through the plate, and install a bolt long enough to double nut, and still allow a small amount of movement.  You need grade 8 bolt/s and grade 8 nuts at the minimum.  I tried it using a single bolt and nut, and on the first run, the nut backed completely off.  I then drilled the bracket and mount for two bolts, and solved the problem.   The bolt should come in from the top, and install the double nuts on the bottom.  Joe-JDC

Sorry for hi-jacking but Scott, I just ordered and received a set of those mounts for my 68 Torino but didn't have time to install them before I left for 4 weeks of work. What is your experience with them and what car/engine have you fitted them in/on?

I got them for my 67 Fairlane on recommendation from a friend who's building a 66. Haven;t installed them yet myself but he said they were spot on for fitment.
I used to do the bolt through the driver side motor mount on my Mustangs when I was a kid. I welded the nut on.

Haven't done that trick in many years.  Last time I modified some SBF mounts, I just used 1/8" steel and welded straps to the mount to hold the pieces together.  You're basically defeating the NVH part of the mount, so don't half-ass it.  Make it strong, or just move on to motor plates.

Thanks for the responses. I didn't leave a way to get any type of jam nut on there. Looks like I will be taking another stab at this.
