Couple of FE Timing Covers
« on: June 06, 2017, 12:15:21 PM »
Both in good condition.

The 66 cover is bare, threads are good   $37

The C8AE cover has either a Aug or Sept 69 date code, includes 390 pointer and nut, threads are good, fuel pump bollts looks stock but seem to be too long   $55

Both for $85 plus shipping

Dog Days of Summer Sale until Sept, buy both timing covers and get the two packages of gaskets free, just have to pay shipping.

Link to gaskets here:

Still learning FE's, so what are the differences between the two ?
Are there differences in the years of FE's ?

(I don't intend to change your thread)  ;)

Well, the real early covers were pressed steel and then changed to aluminum around 61 or 62?.  Then the aluminum ones are pretty much all the same except for casting numbers and date codes (for guys who want matching parts for a correct build).  The first aluminum ones had a timing pointer with two small screws, then somewhere in the later 60's the timing pointer shared a bolt with the timing cover and had only one small screw.  Of course there were different flavors of timing pointers to match up with various damper diameters and thicknesses.

Dropped a PM regarding the timing covers.  I'm interested if they are still available.

Including a set of repo Autolite plug wires if you buy both covers.  Yellow ink with 2nd qtr 68.  Never used.  Think they are for a 428. (Note: sold the gasket sets).
