1/2" fuel line in my 66 Galaxie
« on: May 26, 2012, 03:15:33 PM »
I have been wanting to run 1/2" fuelline in my Galaxie but did not want to cut any extra holes in the tank. This is what I have come up with. Using a replacement fuel sending unit I drilled a 1/2" hole in it to run the new tube. Since the old pickup tube has the sender attached to it I left it in place. Using some 1/2" copper tubing and 1/8" brass plate(soldering them together)I fashioned the pickup tube and bolted it to the sending unit face plate and braced it to the original pickup tube. I also soldered a brass flare fitting on it so I could attach an 8AN fitting to it. I haven't tried to put it in the tank yet so hopefully it will fit!
