Just wondering.  I have one that I think is 0.010"/0.010", machined on the snout and on the butt for passenger car use.  Stock 3.78" stroke.  I thought these forgings were fairly valuable.  Granted, you can buy the Chinese forged cranks for the same or less with a lot more stroke.

I bought one ready to go in a passenger car FE for $450 and was happy to get it.  I bought another 391 crank that was unmodified for $200.  Then I paid an American craftsman $1500 for a whole lot of machine work on it.   I'm super happy with that.

Where are these old things worth these days?

thanks,

paulie

Lots of people want a 3.78 stroke - whether because of rules or simple desire.  Those are not available in a shelf stock Chinese crankshaft.
Your 391 stuff still has plenty of value - would not surprise me at all to see a perfect and ready to go one to approach the thousand dollar mark or significantly more if somebody really needed/wanted it.

Bringing this post back up. Does anyone need a stock 391 crank? I'm not going to use it and hate it going back to the scrap yard.
I'll just store it in a corner.
Are these heavier than a normal FE cast crank? (this one seems heavier) and are they balanced differently?
Figure about $100 to ship 1/2 way across the nation. I shipped a FE crank to texas visa UPS for $85.

Do you have one of these left for sale, or
Did you sell them all or decide to keep them?

Thanks,

Ron

    Chris ,
A friend of mine has a 391 crank in the South Bay area . I'll give him your number. It may already be reworked to passenger car specs.
