What is a paquet port?
« on: March 03, 2017, 01:58:32 AM »
Ok, showing my ignorance here but I am very curious about this.

I've seen the words paquet port several times when discussing heads and intakes, there are intakes for sale for the paquet port, but what the heck is a "paquet port"?

Google was no help.....

Curiosity is getting the better of me...

Ray Paquet is the owner of the nation's fastest and quickest NHRA Super Stock Thunderbolt - and has held that title on & off for probably 30 years or more.  One bad hombre - and a really nice guy.

Several years ago he worked with Dove mfg on updated 427 high riser heads that included several characteristics he was having modified into his original iron heads - relocated and reshaped port openings and such.  The Dove "PIE" or Paquet Intake & Exhaust" heads are those parts.  Unless you are epically good with a welder you will need to use those items as a set.  When properly finished and assembled they are a pretty darn good running combination, but its not usually a beginner level project for certain...

Ah, I had a feeling that it was named after whomever developed it.

Thanks for clearing that up.
