Baby Cammer
« on: December 12, 2016, 03:26:44 PM »
This little guy is for my tow truck, to tow my FE to the track. ;)
This is what is called a 4.6 Romeo.
Once you take the heads off it looks like a small 427ish.
Fully skirted and cross bolted.
One could easily get hooked on spending money on these as well.
That's why I limit myself to the really expensive stuff. ;)
Not much, just RV cams, the big oil pump (go figure  ::)) pipes and will ditch the steel out of balance finger chopper on the front
and go to full electric.
I can hardly wait to hear the thing.  :)

As i see it.The US automakers was leading the development
in the 60s with engines like this. The  SOHC The Indy Small
block, Pontiac's OHC Six Buick and Olds had some both DOHC
And SOHC prototypes Then came the 70s and they killed anything
resembling progress and tried to get 20 year old designs to pass
emissions and talked loud about the V8s son to come extinction
The  result was low power astronomic fuel consumption  compared
to power Cracking heads non working emission systems that no on understand
they put those engines in the biggest heaviest cars ever built
Think Early 70s Impalas with 160 ish hp big block :o
Or the ODs Diesel :o :o wasn't fast enough to keep up with the rods
flying out of the pan

For ten fifteen years they were a yoke  should kept working on those
prototypes to get a street version in a car that don't looked like....Well
something only a mother could have loved
Then they should have been where we are today
 in the 80-90s
And Mopars fusion with Reanault?????????? that ended up in a
bunch of really beautiful creations. With frontwheel drive :o :o :o
New yorker Le baron :o ;D ;D I'm thinking about Disco Stu from

A 1998 F150 4X4 Tow/Snowplow. It was having a temper tantrum it stopped turning. ;)
The actual failure was sludge. The oil was just getting too thick at the back of the cams and they seized.

I have it back in the truck now and I plan to refire it today with some luck. And yes it is snowing
and I'm putting the engine in the snowplow. ::)
There is a movie of it coming out if you are really bored. ;)

I know when you look back, "what were they thinking".
But it's like any time period, you work with what you have.
As he say's, "that's a pile of Renault". ;)
