I've got all summer. I'm not really doing anything to the car, so I just need to whip up a small trailer and hitch and I'll be ready to go. Yeah, I got this. Nooo problem.

Well that was a LIE!!  13 days to go and the car isn't ready, the trailer isn't ready, I still need to do a few things to the truck, and I don't have a single thing on a list of things to take.

Yep, I'm beginning to understand Drag Week. But I got this  ;D ;D

Bought a dragster in January.  Target run date was 60th birthday, July 24.  Well...maybe next year.  So - I feel your pain.

If it was not for the last minute none of us would get anything done.

This year's EMC engine is going to be a "floor sweepings" special.  A 4.125 steel crank (seems nobody wants one of those...).  The demo/sample/test mule block from last year - proof that you fill a block within an inch of the deck and still leak water.  And some CNC ported Edelbrock heads and port matched RPM intake - the Ed parts are rules mandated and I have them, as is the 11.5:1 compression.  Contest is October 3-7, Thursday is September 1rst.  Pistons arrived Wednesday.  Wrong.  My fault.  Let the panic begin....

You tend to forget what people can do with "floor sweeping" engines....

Inside joke for me and BR...

LOL, Shady. That was earlier this year for me. I'll be saving that one again for next April. One panic at a time, please.

Of course Jay is going through another epic thrash right now, which is why he's been scarce. His make mine look like a walk through a daisy field.  Best of luck to him.

I have been saying for the last two years "This is the last trip for the Galaxie, next year I'll be in the Mustang" well guess what I'm driving again. Also plan on forgetting at least one thing. I was 5hrs into and 9hr drive last year going to St Louis when I discovered I had left my cell phone at home. I had to stop at a Walmart at about 9:30pm and get a trak phone. It's all part of the adventure. :)

So you are going to the EMC after all?  That is good news.  You are not the only person still waiting on pistons.  There have been a couple of heavy hitters drop out already.  Hope you make it.  Joe-JDC

Yep, I'm beginning to understand Drag Week. But I got this  ;D ;D

Doug, seems like your trying to convince yourself just as much as the rest of us.  ::) But I got faith that all of yall can get it done and on the road. It amazes me how much can be accomplished in a short amount of time.
After all eight hours of sleep every three days is enough for most people, right? Good luck on the 2 week thrash.  ;D
